One night a few weeks ago, Jake called us into his bedroom. He said that he wanted to give money to the Christmas Wish that they do on KLTY (a Christian Radio station). He had heard about it while listening to the radio and was very set on us participating. We told him ok and that we would look to see where they would be doing a show and go and donate. We found one that appropriately enough was on Christmas Eve. We told Jake that since this was his idea he needed to donate some of his money and mom and dad would donate the rest. All morning long he was so excited. We were a little afraid that the weather wouldn't hold out. It was to be raining and then snow would come in with winds in the 40 mph range. I didn't want to be out in bad weather with just me and the kids. God was however watching out for us and provided the time and a clearing so that I could take Jake. (I had prepared him for the possibility of us not being able to go but I knew that his heart would be broken. He had been waiting for this day for several weeks!)
