*If you are new or haven’t kept up with my blog please go back and start with the post titled “Seasons”. These posts are better read in order so that you get the full picture.
I am learning that I don’t have to be complete to be free. I am learning to let go of trying to be this put together, all-or-nothing woman and just be me…in the present. I still struggle with fear and anxiety. Some days are good and I am ready to do battle and other days I’d rather crawl back in bed and just wallow. I’m learning to do life one day at a time. Focusing on what I am to do with that day. At times, I fail. Many times, I fail. But that’s okay. God is God and I am not.
God wants me just the way I am. I don’t have to be perfect for Him. I don’t have to be anything. He loves me…just as I am. So while this has been a time for me to find my true identity in Christ I am finding that He wants me just the way that I am. He says to me, “Come as you are”.
There are two Bible verses that I have come upon. There was one that I clung to for dear life at the early stages of my anxiety and reappeared when I happened to show Jake and Abby a Hermie and Friends video. God is really funny about speaking to me lately through my kids’ videos. I have to laugh initially and the quickly run and get my Bible and reread the passage that He spoke to me about through the video. The first one is Isaiah 41:10. It reads: “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” I love that scripture and camped out on the first line for such a long time that I almost forgot there was more to it. I now love the last line…”I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Wow! That is powerful stuff!
The other scripture came to me as I was coming up with a title for this blog post. It comes from Matthew 11:28-30. It reads: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
As I write this I am reminded of a song that I sang back in high school at my church titled “The Robe” by Wes King. I loved that song and I just found the lyrics and fell in love with the song all over again. Such a great message. So once again I leave you with a song…

“The Robe”
by Wes King
Anyone whose heart is cold and lonely
Anyone who can’t believe
Anyone whose hands are worn and empty
Come as you are
Anyone whose feet are tired of walking
And even lost their will to run
There is a place of rest for your aching soul
Come as you are
Chorus:
And the robe is of God
That will clothe your nakedness
And the robe is his grace
It’s all you need
Come as you are
Anyone who feels that they’re unworthy
Anyone who's just afraid
Come sinner, come and receive his mercy
Come as you are
