This past Saturday Jakob had his first soccer game. What a blast it was! I don't know who had more fun...us or Jake. It is so much fun watching a bunch of 4 year olds run around and try to score a goal or rather just chase a ball!
Jake had so much fun despite the fact that he was plowed down by his teammates as he was running the opposite direction. It was such a sight. We didn't know whether or not we should run out on the field or not. Poor Jake looked to the ref to hold him (he was a high school kid and didn't know what to do:) and finally his coach ran out and picked him up. Jon soon after ran to the sideline to see how he was and to console him. He told him that it was ok to cry but Jake said that he didn't want to. (His face showed otherwise.) I am just glad that I had on my sunglasses. I had to hold back the tears as well as hold back on not running out on the field to hold him. After that, Jake was a little skiddish around the ball and the players. He would hold out his hands any time any one came close. Kinda funny!
By the way Jake's name for the ref is "F". Not sure why, only that maybe that all he heard was the "f" part of ref. We got a good laugh out of that!

That is so cute!! I think when they play soccer that young they are too cute running around. You did a great job letting him be a "man" by not having his mommy run out there. Even though I know it was hard for you!! Hope to see yall soon.
