The Big 10

Today Jon and I celebrate our 10 year anniversary! Wow, the big 1-0! What a blessing it has been. My how we have grown. From a tall, gawky boy with more piercings than me, hair redder than Jake’s (by choice not by God), and a passion for alternative things from music to clothes to just marching to the beat of a different drum. (For all my college friends-remember Alternative Jon?) And me, a little prim and proper girl who had nothing in common with the alternative boy. How times have changed and we have too. Jon’s mom constantly asks what I ever saw in Jon (during that season of his life) when I fell in love with him and my response is always-God. I’m not just saying that as the typical church answer “God!” But truly is was and is God. I felt in my heart before we ever got together that God was really working in the life of the man that I was going to marry just as He was molding me into the woman that He wanted me to be for my husband. I had no idea that it was Jon until we just one day clicked and I knew. His passion for God and heart for missions and the world was and is of the utmost importance to him. That is what drew me to him even more and caused me to see that my heart is for those very things as well. Eleven years later, we are married with two beautiful kids. We’ve grown, changed, laughed, cried, learned, inspired, dreamed, and so much more together. I am proud of my husband and even more proud to be his wife.
God has given me an amazing gift and every day I am thankful!
