Body by Jake

No, I am not promoting this program. I don't even know him or what he does exactly. I am talking about my Jake. My 4 1/2 year old work out instructor! :)

Ever since I got the green light to work out I have struggled to find the right time and energy to actually work out. Abby is currently on a 3 hour schedule which means she eats for about ½ hour, then I keep her awake to play for another ½ hour to 45 minutes and then put her down to sleep. So, that gives me approximately 1 ½ hours to work out, shower, dress and begin the process with her all over again. Oh, and I do have another kiddo that I need to spend time with! Quality time! Not a lot of time! I have tried getting up after Abby’s 5am feeding (did that once) which was great but tough. (It’s easier to crawl back into bed and just sleep.) I have also tried sleeping for another hour and then getting up which isn’t that great because I don’t get up! I have also tried to do it during nap times but I am not guaranteed that Jake will sleep the entire time. I have also tried to work out while Jake is awake and he has even done one with me…abs workout. Funny! Today, I was all dressed and ready at 7 (Jake has been sleeping in lately) when I heard Jake come into my room. Uggh! So, I put the work out on hold, although he kept asking me if I was going to work out. We ate breakfast and I decided that I would work out while he is awake. Yikes! If you know him, he doesn’t sit still for ANYTHING!!! He told me that he would just sit and watch and do his new John Deere puzzle. It’s John Deere after all. That tends to keep his attention! So, I reluctantly popped the DVD in and got Jake situated on the couch behind me with his puzzle set up. I began to work out and Jake just sat there. Good boy! Then, all of a sudden halfway into the work out he decides to get up and pretend that he is the instructor. He walks around me and the imaginary students and yells at us. C’mon! You can do it! 5-4-3-2-1! Pick it up! Don’t stop! Hard to keep a straight face while I am struggling to just finish the work out and Jake is my instructor! Rather than yell at him (I am just beginning this work out so I am in pain, remember!) I laugh and go with the flow. It was a pretty good work out. He does after all love to work out with Jon and me whenever he gets the chance. So, I have a work out buddy and he is 4 ½ years old and he’s tough! Just the way I like it! Someone to push me!
Thanks, buddy! :0)
