Mondays in our house are consumed by one thing-trash! No, our house is not full of it. Rather on this day we are empty of it! Monday is "trash day". And the reason we are so consumed by it is because Jake LOVES to watch the trash haulers come and pick up our trash. There are 3 that come by and as you may know they come at different times so throughout the day Jake can be playing in one room and the moment he hears the rumble of the trash hauler he heads straight for the living room windows. There are even times in the morning or during nap time when he is asleep (and he sleeps hard) and he'll hear the trash hauler coming and he jumps out of bed. He is glued there watching them come down the road picking up everyone's trash.
He even tells me, "that's the recycle truck, that's the trash, that's the one that picks up the clippings (from the lawn)". Once they are done we go and he picks up the trash bins and brings them in. That is one of his chores and he loves it. I am still amazed at this kid. He truly loves all things trucks. Still John Deere is #1 but trash haulers are a close #2.
On a side note Jake asked me the other day as he was watching one of his John Deere videos with his dad if he could change his name...to John. Notice I spelled it with an "h" and not Jon's way. Why? Jake wants to be just like John Deere. It took some convincing but I think he's ok with being Jake. After all, his initials are J. D., just like John Deere. :)

Caroline loves trash trucks too and will go to the window to watch them. I am glad when it does not come during nap time because it wakes her up too. I love the John name change... that made me laugh:)
