Last Thursday when I picked Jake up from school his teacher was trying to get his attention to get him to tell me something. He couldn’t think of what it was until his teacher said, “the card”. Just then Jake turned to me and with such excitement in his voice he told me that he was invited to be “Star of the Week”. I looked at him and saw such joy in his face that it brought sheer joy to me. I asked him how it happened and he told me that Mrs. Bryant started a drum roll and announced that someone was about to be given an invitation to be star of the week. She walked around the room with the invitation and finally stopped at Jake. He was so excited (his words) that he said that he jumped up and down and said “Whoo-Hoo”! If you know Jake then I bet you are picturing that right now. He is so animated! Oh how I wish I could have been there to see the excitement. Next we had to work on his “Star of the Week” poster where we put pictures of him and the family as well as a bunch of stars and stickers. He was so excited about his poster and couldn’t wait to show his teacher. We took it up there today and later this week I am going to bring his favorite snack and drink to share with his class. What a fun week this will be for Jake!
