Never Say Never!

OK, we just did something that I said that I would NEVER do! I am big on following through with if I say never to something then I am going to stick with it. Well, I’ve gone and broken that rule. We just went out and bought our first minivan! YIKES! I have always said as long as I can remember that I would NEVER own a minivan. Too “mommy”-I know, I’m sorry to all you who do drive one. Now I do too! I drove an SUV from the time that we had Jake and now we needed something a little roomier and cost efficient. We toyed with the idea for a few months-mostly Jon though. However, last weekend we went and visited some friends and took a little ride in their minivan. We noticed how nice it was and kept talking about it after we left their house. The next day I called my friend (for another reason) and we got on the topic of minivans and how we both said that we never would have bought one but they are a lot more practical. The more we talked the more I was convinced. Then, on Thursday night as I was sitting in one of my mom groups I started to think how selfish and vain I was being. Rather, that was God pointing that out to me. So, I began to research them and found the one that I wanted. Today, we set out and got it. It has a lot of amenities. Great for traveling as well as just ideal for someone of my height and size. I am petite and getting Jake in and out is tough since an SUV is high up. Having to get Abby in and out as well as Jake would have made things very tough for me. Now having the minivan is a lot easier to get Jake in and out of as well as me. Remember, I am 5 weeks out from Abby’s debut. Climbing into my SUV was pretty cumbersome.
Let me just say this…minivans today are not like our mother’s minivans (if they drove them). Ours has leather seats, a must if you have kids, the doors open and close with the click of a button, as well as some other pretty cool features. So, all this to say that I am eating my words. We are now the proud owners of a minivan.

Lindsay says the same thing, I have actually been throwing that ideal around, we need something bigger for Micah's things when we go on trips and the car isn't really cutting it.

Now that we encouraged the minivan... next will be moving out to the "country" with us!
